It’s -17 degrees outside today in Toronto – which is actually warmer than it’s been. I’m currently on my sofa, under a wool knit blanket, sipping my Tealish Delicious Detox Tea, mentally preparing myself for my four block walk to Breathe Yoga Studio for an afternoon Iyengar + Rope Wall Class. It’ll be nice to breathe some air into my lungs and have the sun shine on my face – something I feel like I haven’t had in weeks. I literally wake up, commute to work, stay inside all day and then commute home. I think it’s important to take the extreme weather alerts seriously – but it’s hard being cooped up inside all the time. I’ve decided to put a list together of all my favourite products that are helping to get me through the cold front. Alaffia Goodsoap Bars are luxurious soaps made with rich, moisturizing, fair-trade shea butter by women’s cooperatives in Togo, Africa. Alaffia is committed to making sure employees and suppliers receive better wages and working conditions. I love their soaps fresh scents and how they moisturize and clean my hands, opposed to drying them out with the harsh, cold, dry weather. You can purchase them at Whole Foods Market for a couple of dollars and they are big enough that one bar will literally last through the entire winter. My hands are constantly dry and sore during winter, so I always make sure to keep hand cream on me at all times. L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream, has so many fragrances to choose from, including almond, lavender, rose and so many more. They are perfect for using at home or on the go.

My favourite colour to coat my nails with when my skin is at it’s fairest hue is “True North” red.
I made the mistake of constantly applying lip balm in an attempt to sooth my dry lips for years – until I learned that these products only add to the problem of dryness. I found a solution to dry lips by making sure to drink lots of water (hydration starts on the inside) and Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub. I love this flavour because its name is from a classic Southern cocktail full of peppermint and sugar, sans the bourbon. The fine castor sugar scrubs your lips to soften them up, and after you lick off the refreshing minty excess, you’re left with a protective coating of organic jojoba oil and a subtly tingling kissable mouth. I found out about Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-in Conditioning Spray from FabFitFun. It was one of the many beauty products I received, tried and love. This product is an ultra-lightweight leave-in conditioning spray fortified with a unique blend of nourishing rosehip, argan, and coconut oils. It is the only product I have found that can tame my unruly curls and leave them (and me) feeling sexy and ready for any occasion – day or night. If you know me, you know that I have a ritual that includes showering, drying off and applying lotion over my face and entire body. My mother did the same thing and she had the softest skin on the planet – I also have baby soft skin and I owe it all to body lotion. I have sensitive skin so typically I don’t like anything too thick in texture or too intense in smell. I recently found eos berry blossom body lotion. The texture is perfectly smooth and the fragrance is light, sweet and fresh. I’ve even received a few compliments and questions from people curious about what perfume I have on since using this eos lotion. Highly recommend. I love trying out new products, mostly ones that are compatible with sensitive skin, and are chemical and cruelty free. If you are into the same stuff I highly recommend signing up for Fabfitfun – use my code http://xo.fff.me/hxzrU and get $10 your first box. I love getting my seasonal fabfitfun box – I just got an email that my editors box is almost ready to ship – I’ll share all the amazing products once I receive it on my doorstep. I would LOVE to hear from you to find out what products you’re obsessed with. Feel free to comment below, send me an email or DM me on Instagram. Thanks for stopping by xo
